Your words stay on your device.
QuietMarkdown is a frontend-only Markdown editor. It is designed so that writing, previewing, formatting, and exporting happen in your browser.
QuietMarkdown does not require an account and does not send your document text, filenames, clipboard contents, or exports to a QuietMarkdown server.
What QuietMarkdown stores locally
Your current Markdown draft, document title, selected theme, and export preferences are stored in browser localStorage for convenience. This information remains in the browser profile and device you are using.
What QuietMarkdown does not collect
- No accounts, sign-in, or identity profiles
- No document uploads or cloud synchronization
- No analytics that record document text, filenames, or exported content
- No advertising trackers
Images and external links
A document can include remote images and links. Opening such links or rendering remote images may contact the external service that hosts them. For the most private and dependable export workflow, use local image paths where possible.
Your control
You can download your Markdown at any time. Clearing the browser data for quietmarkdown.vercel.app removes the browser-local draft and preferences. If a draft matters, download the .md file as a backup.
